Captions ON + Subtitles ON = Success ON
Although they seem the same and are often interchanged, there is one significant TECHNICAL distinction between CAPTIONS and SUBTITLES.
Captions are a transcription of dialogue and descriptive terms of sound heard on-screen (i.e., music, thunder, etc.).
Subtitles are a translation of the dialogue without the descriptors.
Captions and subtitles both appear as text on the bottom of your screen, and when kids read along, no matter what country they are in, reading improves, and kids Click! Success ON
